Funding proposal #10

Dear Python Folks, First and foremost let me express all of my love and admiration for your work. I'd like to suggest a simpler solution for funding. Could we just gather the funds on one of the crowdfunding platforms? It'd be super easy and I think, once you make it public, all Pythonistas could drop a buck, and we could easily make it 2M. As most of the core developers are not getting paid for their outstanding work, maybe we could set up an additional Patreon for core python works? Current processes somewhat worked till now, and I'm simply astonished how you made Python the top 1 language for data science and one of the top 3 languages overall. I'm still trying to figure out, how Python manages its high momentum compared to other languages with huge backing. Python is the community's language. Let us make it backed by the community as well.
