Launcher only showing two apps in full list, or one in launcher #32

My app (OpenHub from F-Droid) won't allow me to show images, but it's basically the title. Right now it's three in the launcher, not sure why. It only went away after I cleared data but it went back an hour later.

Update a few hours later: the apps keep changing every thirty minutes, i.e adding or removing. Also, I have to search for apps via the settings app. Any idea what this could be? I'm on Android 12, Galaxy s10+

Very strange! 😳 Really sorry for the inconvenience - I never saw this on any of my devices nor was anything like this ever reported to me 🙈

I don't have a Galaxy S10+ at hand at the moment, but I can get one and test it there. I'm running Android 12 on at least one of my devices (Pixel 3a) where everything works as expected. So I have no idea yet what's going on 🙈

Do you mean the apps in the pie menu or in the app listing? Or both?

adding or removing

Are always the same apps added or different ones each time?

juliloving commented 2 years ago

Both! New apps are being added to the list...

Different, too. Kinda strange. Not sure of any foss image hosting sites, but I can show screenshots if you'd like

I released the latest changes, including support for work profiles, in the beta channel. Could you please check if this happens with the new version too?

There have been some changes about how the app listing is requested on new devices, so I'm interested if the error is still in there.

You can join the beta channel from the web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/de.markusfisch.android.pielauncher

Or directly from an Android device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.markusfisch.android.pielauncher

You can always go back to the release channel. If you don't want to use Play but F-Droid, the beta version (1.13.0) should become available there within the next few days (F-Droid updates only at midnight).

Another way to try this version would be to get it directly from GitHub: https://github.com/markusfisch/PieLauncher/releases/tag/1.13.0
