SH1106 Black display #2

Hello,

I just got the kit from https://shop.blinkyparts.com/en/OpenDTU-Your-evaluation-for-your-balcony-solar-system/blink237542 (nrf module). The kit is wonderful and easy to assemble (thanks for the manual :-))

I've soldered the various components together and Opendtu works with the 2 green LEDs. However, the SH1106 screen remains black. I have no voltage between the VCC terminal and GND (3.3V ?). Is this normal?

Reading the printed circuit, I don't understand how we can have the 3.3 V. Can you help please ?

Thank you for advance,

Jul

Hi Jul,

thanks for your feedback. Check the components: You can also operate the components individually and connect them directly to the ESP32: Grab some cables and have a look at https://github.com/tbnobody/OpenDTU where you will find the instructions on how to connect the radio module directly to the ESP. The display must be connected as follows:

VDD (display) <-> V5 or 5V (ESP32) GND (display) <-> GND (ESP32) SCK/SCL (display) <-> G22 (ESP32) SDA (display) <-> G21 (ESP32)

If it works then, the fault is probably on the board. Please check your solder connections. Contact us if you need spare parts.
