this is an issue with tinget itself, and not with WingetUI. You should (if you want) post this issue here: https://github.com/microsoft/winget-cli/issues
If you want, you can blacklist this app, but you'll never receive updates.
Would WingetUI be open to a workaround? Some other software updaters have an "ignore this version" where that version is blacklisted but you'll still get an update notice when the next release comes out.
That would both workaround WingetUI displaying notifications when Winget has a bug like this. And also just be a good feature addition.

WingetUI is telling me I have an update to Firefox Developer Edition because I have the current 108.0 version installed. And WingetUI wants me to "upgrade" to the older 108.0b9 beta.

Beta releases should not be considered "newer" than the stable release that comes after the beta.
