Drop indicator now seems to work, though not ideally when drag-dropping within the same track. Across tracks it works fine, though, and we consider this to be the most common case. Also, copy or move is indicated by different colors, move is green, copy is blue. Are those colors good choices...? Never mind now.
When drag-dropping an FX, there is currently no indication of where the dropped FX will be positioned. It is always placed above the FX dropped on, and at the end of the FX chain if the drop position is below the last FX in the chain, but this should be indicated. One way to indicate is to draw a (blue?) line at the position in the chain where the dropped FX will appear. Also, there is no indication of whether the drop will be a move or copy of the dragged FX. This is typically indicated by a plus on the mouse cursor, and is probably preferable, but other ways may be equally useful.
