Brief description of the issue

There used to be a tray icon with the count of unread posts. This no longer displays. In Tools | Settings | User Interface | Task bar, "Display count of unread messages" is checked.

How to reproduce the bug?

Open RSS Guard and look at the taskbar.

What was the expected result?

Expected: tray icon with the count of unread messages

What actually happened?

What actually happened: No tray icon.

image "Tray icon" is checked too?

martinrotter commented 2 months ago

Log seems okay, no errors. This must be something specific to your environment.

thealexparadox commented 2 months ago

As I said, tray icon is checked. How can my OS "not support" it when I'm running Win11? It had supported it before today. Downgrading the app doesn't help so you're probably right, it's not an app issue. Guess you can close this then. I just wish that message was more specific so I could figure out exactly what the problem with the OS was.

This must be some feature of Windows 11, sometimes it hides some tray icons, make sure this is not the case.

thealexparadox commented 2 months ago

Not the case. You may safely assume I've checked this before submitting. i understand you have to ask, though.

martinrotter commented 2 months ago

In that case, I have really no idea how the tray icon can disappear, logs show no related warnings/errors.

I also am not able to reproduce the issue anyhow.

martinrotter commented 2 months ago

Also, read the statement in the settings window!

"Your os does not support tray icons at the moment".

Which RSS Guard installation file did you exactly downloaded/installed?

thealexparadox commented 2 months ago

I did. that's what confused me. hence my conmment of "How can my OS 'not support' it when I'm running Win11?" That should prove to you that I read it...

rssguard-4.7.3-a4e20486b-win10.exe

isn't that the one i should be using?

martinrotter commented 2 months ago

Yes, that is correct installation file. This is weird. If there was any widespread problem, many users would be reporting it...

I am just not able to reproduce, sorry, if you have any new info, feel free to comeback.
