City detection inaccuracy #610

Hello The app is very good. However, there was an error where a different city was set in the location setting. Maybe it's a problem with GPS accuracy, so I need to improve the performance

I'm not sure what you mean by 'performance'?

Thank you for quick response. I live in Eumseong, Korea, but when I set the location, information about another area called Angol was output.

Aha, I see. So, it's an accuracy problem? How far away from your location is "Angol"? Unfortunately, the location information is set by an API at Open Weather Map, which we do not have control over. It is usually good enough.

Although they don't make it easy (and I suggested improvements to them) OWM are receptive to reports of problems related to location-matching. Try the contact / ask a question form on their site.

I recently learned (via a mail exchange with staff) that OWM uses GeoNames (map) for locations.

So, it would be sensible to first ensure that the desired Korean locations are in the GeoNames data.
