Same thing for me. Actually, I'm using debian and installing it in an academic environment with hundred of computers. Automated install is not an option, it's a prerequisite. Targeting more than just end user, i.e. targeting schools, university or entreprises, leads to having an automated install process. Debian preseed, that can be even http sent is a real marvel for this In our actual setup :
Evertyhing is automated
Deepin should no do less than that ?
Hi there.
Since Deepin 15 I try to get in touch with some developer and tell her/him that I like to be able to preseed deepin like an Ubuntu mini ISO. I am not sure if this is possible right now.
The advantages of this are:
Iso is just as big as the installer 30 - 40 MB You can provide deepin with custom Apps right from the start to achieve a specific test.
For example, I like to teach Drupal, a Content Management framework for different people. By now I had to download about 3 GB to get the desktop and then run a script to install all components needed to do so. Like Apache Nginx Mysql PHP. When it comes to Php I have to upgrade the Version from the panda repo to php7.2 or 7.3 by hand.
With preseeding, the installer would do this in a preseed late command by using a script at the end of the installation process. So Deepin could be installed automatically at all.
Is this feature planned for further releases?
If so I would like to get the option to download a mini Version of deepin 15.x besides the desktop iso to see how far we can go with this.
