Windows view Blue border ... is a step backwards !!! #34

Hi,

Test driving the new 15.6 after upgrading it last night.

Why would you add a 'Blue border' to the active window in the windows view ... its an old style ... giving a border to things ... you might want to consider losing the 'Blue Border' around active window in the windows view ...

I understand the designer must've thought of bringing attention to the active window now that the arrow keys / tab key work in this view ... bringing attention with an old school border is not the way.

Actually you already have a nice animation of the active window and the fact that the active window is slightly larger than the others with sharp borders(like the modern metro UI slides'ey implementation) is a step into the future.

These two elements(larger window and the animation) is enough to mark the active window in the windows view, the blue border is just unnecessary and old school way of drawing attention to something and a big eyesore !!!

Please lose the blue border !!!

thanks.

If the designer still wants a substantial visual cue to the active window(something more than the 2 subtle ones i've mentioned above(animation and window size)) ... I think he'll find moving the 'close icon' and the 'pin icon' to move with the active window a good visual attention draw.

Please not that these two icons move with the mouse cursor anyways along with the blue border (they however do not move with the tab / arrow keys) ... implement the icons to move with the tab / arrow keys and you'll have a great visual cue ...

but please please just drop the blue outline all together !!!

thanks.

the 'blue border' keeps consistent with multitasking view.

oh yeah !!! ... As a designer i get it ... its always better to expand a design element from an existing one ... a good practice !!!

Feedback for the designer ... But its a little too thick and overpowering(in your face) takes away the focus from the other subtlety's that make deepin windows view a real treat for the eye, elements like the animation, the close & pin icons in the corners, all these elements are getting pushed back as a result of this thick border ...

can you ask the designer to check if a thinner border works better ... a thinner one will be more subtle may be ... probably match its stroke size to the multi-tasking workspace border ... let him play around with the stroke sizes of both ... if he so wishes ... the objective is that it should NOT overpower the more important visual elements of the widows view !!!

PS : was this border operational on 15.5 and earlier ? i don't seem to recollect anyways !!!

had some time ... so i tested with a thinner(2px) blue border ... reduced the width of both the smaller 'workspace window' as well as the 'application window' keeping both same stroke size(2px)

for your designer's eye ... if he thinks it suits his overall design vision ...

multi tasking blue border
