Hi,

I am getting these bouts where the Windows effect seem to crash repeatedly ... i re-enable using the shortcut and the next moment it crashes ... this happens repeatedly ... its an irritating experience when it crashes so repeatedly !!!

Please help resolve this issue ...

i started with 15.4 ... upgraded to 15.5 ... the upgrades have been pretty great ... not many issues in both those instances ...

15.6 is turning out be a brat of an upgrade ... quite a few issues ... strange ones at that !!!

sonald commented 6 years ago

It seems to be an driver issue. please check /var/log/Xorg.0.log and dmesg to see if there is any anomalies.

aiamuzz commented 6 years ago

@sonald ... i am not a coder or techie ... wouldn't know what to look for ... but if you give me the exact command ... i can provide you its output to help identify the root cause of this issue.

aiamuzz commented 6 years ago

changed the driver to Intel acceleration mode ... the problem is occurring even on this driver ... Never have i faced Window effect crashing on me ... right from 15.4 to 15.5 ... but 15.6 ... quite a few issues problems being encountered.

------ edit -----

life is miserable with this issue ... the system froze, had to hard boot ... just realizing how much the deepin experience is dependent on this Windows Effect ... :open_mouth: ... wondering how come never faced a graphics driver issue before 15.6 ... ?

Need help fixing this issue badly ... i am ready to provide logs from my affected system.

@aiamuzz plz try to use deepin-feedback to upload log

@aiamuzz plz try to use deepin-feedback to upload log

but won't the deepin-feedback app upload it to the deepin forum ... i'd rather post logs here on the issue page ... ?

How do i take the same logs manually ... can you provide me the commands to do so ?

thanks.

sonald commented 6 years ago

open deepin-terminal, and input sudo deepin-feedback-cli, after it finished, you'll see a hint to prompt you upload the archived log file. the log file should be something like deepin-feedback-cli-Deepin-15.6-all-20180628-164321.tar.gz. just uploda it here.

Same here deepin 15.6 and 15.7 with windows effect crashs a lot

install systemd-coredump package, and next time it crashes, you can check the crash report by coredumpctl gdb. plz upload the backtrace here if you can.
