Once a user has saved their switching details in the Portal, the supplier will send the user an email to confirm their details and the supplier's offer. To start switching the user must reply to the supplier's email. The user then has 14 days to change their mind. It takes about 35 days to switch. The supplier will then arrange with the user to fit a smart meter. After switching, the user will initially be charged for electricity according to the "Energy Local flat tariff". This special single rate tariff is used only until the smart meter has been fitted. Once your smart meter has been fitted, Cooperative Energy will use half-hourly data from the smart meter to calculate the user's bill according to the Match Tariff and Time Of Use Tariff. Note that there is a delay of about 10 days to go through an administrative change of meter class.

Note this is on the assumption that nothing goes wrong with the switching.  Please manage expectations.
