Generator meter requirements #21

Hi - Our generator in Crickhowell received this from Coop Energy:

"Thanks for your email. One question that Michael has raised is about the meter – does it definitely require a new meter to be installed? He asks as we understand that sometimes a meter can be switched to have HH functionality without needing a new meter. I imagine that a new meter might be required due to the plans of the site being an Energy Local site?"

Does the generator need a specific type of HH meter? I have not heard of existing meters being converted to HH meters before.

I have not seen the rest of the email trail. An HH meter can be configured to just record total consumption. For example when a HH meter is fitted in a domestic house, there are a couple of weeks after it is fitted where behind the scenes all the relevant parties are told it now going to have hlaf-hourly reading. In these 2 weeks it is set to just record total consumption. I think that they are checking that the generator does not already have a half hourly meter fitted but is just using it for total consumption. For a generator this is very unlikely.
