It might be best to switch to the cheapest tariff on Cooperative Energy. They will waiver an exit charge when transferring to Energy Local.
We've had a very similar question from residents on Osney Island in Oxford. Very keen residents willing to help with recruitment asking: is there any benefit in them switching to Co-op Energy on one of their standard tariffs before the club is ready to test the basic switching process - so they can reassure households joining later that its not very complicated. Is there any benefit to this?
My current fixed gas and electricity contract finishes soon and I need to set up a new contract rather urgently or I may be stuck on the variable rate which is not good. Could I switch to a standard Coop Energy tariff of their choosing now then transfer to the EL Club tariff at a later date once it is known and the club established? Or simply set up a new one year contract now and join the club later?
