Challenge between Geographic locations and grid maps (E.g Primary substations) #25

This is an issue that has come up a number of times. In geographic areas that are quite distinct but where parts of that community are not necessarily on the same primary substation is there a way we can go forward without having to set up a seperate EL club for each Primary substation. The Llyn is a great example where geographically it would make sense to have one club. Energy Local Llyn but there are 5 seperate primary substations. Potentially in order for everyone on the Llyn to have the opportunity to be part of an EL club they would need to set up 5 coops. The question is whether that is the only way we can do this, or is there a way that these 5 areas could be part of the same club to help reduce costs and admin?

In the example above, the five Clubs would need to be separate Clubs due to the nature of the way that the basic Energy Local process needs to work from a regulatory point of view.

On admin, we suggest that the best way might be to have one person/organisation for a group of Clubs to manage accountant reports, filing for FCA and other admin they wish to pool to reduce costs. Ideally this could be an orgnaisation that already provides this type of support or manages the same process for itself. If this is a development organisation or similar it helps support the local economy. We have had discussions of how this would work with some Advisors to date.
