To make an EOI on the portal, a valid email address is required. there is no alternative paper EOI. There are some options to consider where there is no email address:
1) The Club official could create one for a person if they don't know how to create one. 2) The person could ask a freind or family member to host emails for the EOI. 2) For those who never use email/internet, the Club could decide to create and manage an email address on behalf of someone and print out all materials sent to it and deliver those to the person. The person would need to make the switch on the portal themselves and nay be helped to do this. They would need to opt for paper billing.
We had a discussion about this in Aber a few days ago. Apart from safety and GDPR concerns with someone creating an email for someone else, there were misgivings about the idea that people who don't want to communicate via email can't be part of the project. People found it discriminating. The opinion was that the email as essential to sign up should be removed and preferred method of communication added as field. It would then be up to the club to find a way of communicating with those members.
We had a couple of interested people at the meeting who do not have email. On the portal that's a required field; how is it possible to sign an EoI if you haven't got email?
