Serif fonts are not an option because

• It's a new school. Serif fonts indicate tradition, heritage, and history.
• Most courses are computer-heavy (Data, Computer Art, Software Engineering). Serif fonts are historically not recommended for screen display fonts.
• The webpage doesn't contain any long paragraphs. Serif fonts are mainly used for long paragraphs.

Among sans serifs, the humanist should be the most appropriate

• During the days of low-resolution computer screens, humanist sans serif fonts were preferred due to their superior legibility (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sans-serif#Humanist). Consequently, it's the most appropriate for a school with computer-heavy courses.
• Geometric sans are not appropriate because they would give a feel of theoretical approaches and brain-centered design, contradicting with the school's philosophy of "practicing everyday".
• Late 19th-century grotesques, even though they are popular these days (see https://www.typewolf.com/top-10-quirky-grotesque-fonts), give a sense of disorganized school curriculums.
• Neo-grotesques feel a bit outdated in the 21st century

Among humanist san serif fonts in the Top 40 Google Fonts, the following ones are too popular and thus would look mundane, contradicting to the fact that the school is newly founded.

• Open Sans
• Lato
• Source Sans (Adobe's first open-source font)
• Fira Sans (the font for Firefox)

PT Sans is not suited for our purpose as it suggests the Soviet-era propaganda poster typeface.

The remaining choices are:

• Cabin

• Alegreya Sans

• Proza Libre

Among these, only Cabin looks consistent with the Colmar Academy's lion logo, perhaps because of the tail for lowercase L.

Cabin 700 looks a bit too thick. We go with Cabin 600 for the logo.

Google Font website for Cabin suggests Raleway as a pairing font. It looks great when Cabin Regular is used for headings and Raleway Regular for texts.

Typewolf notes on Raleway for a criss-crossed w and an l with a tail despite its overall appearance as a geometric sans-serif font.
