My confusion stemmed from:
American SNES wich takes DC directly in (NEVER try to use those with AC adapter. NEVER!) is rated 10V DC 850mA so inputting DC voltage should just work.
The European NES can be powered with 9V DC, but I think that fries the US NES. Also need to double-check the PAL SNES/NTSC SNES/SFC situation (same jack).
