Email request from Mr. Hull- due to on-going issues with our pa systems:

We need to find an alternate solution for the intercom system today. We can wait no longer. If it means getting another company to come out and take a look, that needs to happen. We are fortunate to have so many good employees working here. They handled things well this morning. But we can't count on that good fortune. We must get the intercom system fixed immediately.

Some options I've found

• Washega - year 1 cost approx. (servers, speakers, software licensing, cabling, etc.) $65,000 - with recurring yearly costs around $2,500 for software - this is an IP-based PA system.
• Visiplex (WIFI PA and Bell system- requested a quote).
• Advanced Sound and Image ( sent email to request if they do PA systems. Local to Fort Myers) - requested a quote.
• Admoveo - requested a quote from their company solutions.
• left a message with Collier District to see if we had contracts/deals with anyone in the district to do PA systems.

Kate Drilling said we would be eligible for the collier county district discount from the district's vendor. This might be interesting since we would have the leverage of the whole district, without being tied into their systems. So, when things go wrong the vendor looks at it like their district account, not just the one-off mason account.

from Kate: chief of facilities is out until Nov. 9th, so it might be a few days after that before I get a response.

I'm going to throw this into blocked since there is really a good list of options already here, and I believe the intercom test was working yesterday at south campus (i believe that was the phone and not our true intercom system which is not functioning). There have been a couple email exchanges with Mr. Hull, and until we get either more information or he wants additional information, we are on hold to hear back from at least the district.

The district is the main one I would like to explore for a possible option at some point in the future, even if not right now.

Software being installed at the Ametek lab and due to be brought and installed at the south campus this week. Awaiting an accurate ETA.
