This is an Enhancement (don't have permissions to mark it as such).
I like to listen to everything that happened in a given day across all shows.
On the old UI it was possible to do this by setting the start date to that day,
the end date to that day (somewhat annoying to set both), and then search with
the textbox blank.
In the new version you're no longer allowed to search with the textbox blank,
which has cut off this user flow. It would be nice to see this flow become
available again whether by simply allowing blank searches or something more
elaborate.
It seems like the simplest approach is to reenable searching with no terms, and
make setting the Start date for a search set both it and the End, but leave the
End as setting just the End.
Making Start move End would help both this user flow and many other user flows
where the user wants a date range of past news. For example, a user looking for
all articles about a given subject in November 2008 would be aided by the Start
date moving the End date, as they no longer have to navigate from the current
week all the way back to December 1, 2008 on the End date - they just tap once
instead.
