It looks like the author of this FB file typed \/ instead or logical OR (or 
some other similar math symbol). We 
escape backslash correctly, but forward slash now becomes part of the math 
expression which requires proper 
markup. Working on it.

yes, this file have some other math, like 10^10, etc. We could not reliably 
recognize
math expressions and convert it to TeX math. The best we can do is to convert 
them
into similar glyphs as used by author. So if he used \/ we should represent it 
the
same in TeX document, not with special "V" symbol.

I figured it out, \backslash WAS the problem. There's at least one more problem 
with the file, though:
