Percentage Character #9

@rutherfordcraze Been reviewing the MD-IO after purchase today. Firstly I think it is great typeface - bar the percentage symbol:

I (personally) found that the percentage character was not that legible in my code editor - mainly as the diagonal line is divided into two parts. It does feel overly stylized. See image example from my code editor:

I did a bit of reading up on how the character came to be and historically the dividing line seems quite important. Wikipedia says:

The term "percent" is derived from the Latin per centum, meaning "hundred" or "by the hundred". The sign for "percent" evolved by gradual contraction of the Italian term per cento, meaning "for a hundred". The "per" was often abbreviated as "p."—eventually disappeared entirely. The "cento" was contracted to two circles separated by a horizontal line, from which the modern "%" symbol is derived.
