Roadblocks towards Office Activation (Got it Installed in a Different Way) #487

Hey, so I found out about pirating Windows Office through this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/1814gmp/guide_how_to_pirate_microsoft_office_properly/ The Reddit thread said to click on the link to your download page and use the Office C2R installer. However, I couldn't download it because Firefox couldn't make a secure connection:

office c2r failed

Same with the C2R Custom Install. So I could only rely on the MSI VL page. I successfully downloaded the Office 2016 Pro Plus file in English then installed it, choosing which apps I wanted and didn't want to have on my computer. I then installed the Ohook as directed, only the older code that will be deactivated soon was the only one of the two that would work on Powershell.

Powershell

I opened Powerpoint and used the generated code on the Command Prompt, but it didn't work.

ohook activation

(It also recognized that I had both 365 and Office 2016, but that didn't end up affecting anything.) I ended up being able to activate it using this link: https://www.coolhub.top/tech-articles/products.html

activation code

So I got it to activate, but I don't understand what made me have all these roadblocks. Any solutions?

  • In Ohook script, its telling that UWP office is installed as well which is not supported, however, it activated the 2016 version successfully.

That's what it says, but it wasn't activated when I opened Powerpoint. I even typed out the generated activation code and it wasn't recognized. I had to go to the coolhub website and type out the activation code in the row that says ProPlus Volume, and that worked.

@CookieUndercover1212 That's probably because you were trying to run UWP office apps, and not really Office 2016 apps. Script mentioned that UWP office isn't supported.

You're right that I also have UWP office apps, even though my intent was to run the Office 2016 apps. So it might have been that having multiple versions affected its abilities after all. I tried uninstalling Office 365 through their uninstall support tool, but it only recognized the 2016 Office, not the UWP apps. Doesn't appear in the control panel either. I've been using the search bar on the bottom-left of the computer to uninstall Microsoft 365 and other pre-installed office applications one by one (can't uninstall SharePoint, and I don't know of any others besides Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook). I don't know how much that messes things up.

@CookieUndercover1212 You can use this scrubber to uninstall Office. https://github.com/abbodi1406/WHD/raw/master/scripts/OfficeScrubber_12r.zip

It says I'm missing the OffScrubC2R.vbs file

WindowsAddict commented 3 months ago

@CookieUndercover1212 Extract the zip file and then run.

You're right, my bad. It worked, thanks.
