Error in `V<-`(`*tmp*`, value = `*vtmp*`) : invalid indexing #278

I get this error for histPlot function when using Bibliometrix package in R. My data comes from Scopus. How can we fix this error?

Please provide a reproducible example using reprex.

Massimo, I got the same error message, but using biblioshiny() and the option of a Historiograph in the Intelectual Structure In fact, it is the same problem. I tried any format from SCOPUS and always got an error message. Mainly the one reported by Z-Arghavan, but also another common one: "non-character argument" I guess you could reproduce the error by yourself. Try any format from SCOPUS. I can garantee to you that the file from SCOPUS I had used in the precious version (3.1.4) is not running in this new version. There is a problem here. Probably in the data loading function for SCOPUS files. Thank you.

I also had this problem, I appreciate the challenge without a reprex I couldn't see a way of creating a meaningful reprex. I think it's an igraph issue. It isn't always obvious what format the data needs to be in, of course relying on the dataprovider structures is intended to help (because you know what Scopus data looks like), but I guess maybe if there are some odd features in fields, errors may creep in?

Hi, I selected a collection of 974 documents about "bibliometric analysis" OR "science mapping" in the management research category from Scopus. I downloaded the collection using two different format files: bibtex and CSV.

For both formats, historiograph functions seem to work well. Please, update bibliometrix from GitHub.

Hi Massimo Thank you for your quick answer. Ok. Here is what I did... I reinstalled R and R Studio. Also, I reinstalled the bibliometrix package. Then I generated 2 files with bliblimetric data: 1 from WOS and 1 from SCOPUS (see search syntax at the end of this message). Note in the results below that I reproduced your script in R. I got the results for the WOS file but got an error with the SCOPUS file. Technically the WOS and SCOPUS files should show the same (or at least similar) results. Both are bibtex for the same search (same DOIs). I hope you can help me in this case. Here is the results:

Hi, I download the collection from Scopus using your query (29 documents) in bibtex format. The historiograph works perfectly. Obviously, the results of WoS and Scopus collection could not be the same because of the different ways to search the local citations in the two databases. WoS provides DOI for references while Scopus provides only reference titles. Then, for WoS, we use DOI to identify local citations (and the matching works with high accuracy) while for Scopus we have to match the document titles with reference titles. This procedure has a lower accuracy than DOI matching.
