What is the system requirement for this tool?

Apparently, 11GB ram isn't enough to encode a 10 MB video file.

Is it expected behavior that av1an consumes so much ram no matter the size of the video?

This depends heavily on the encoder you're using, the number of workers, & your encode settings. The easiest way to lower RAM usage is to manually specify a worker count that is lower than it is automatically configuring your system to use.

If you have crashes/oom it helps a lot if you throw some swap space in.
