DGDecNV Support 2 #801

Since one of your users is posting private email and trying to hurt my reputation I open another issue to respond as the first was closed.

After the user clarified that the binaries were not bundled as he had previously told me, I immediately responded with:

If that is the case then please accept my apologies.

Probably the av1an stuff does random accesses. The filters you mentioned are known to be non-robust for that use case in several circumstances, especially using HW acceleration. DG tools were specifically designed for robust random access/seeking.

Why didn't he report that???

And then I continued to support him. I don't know if it is the same guy or a different guy, but another user posted at my forum asking for a change to DGDecNV to support very large VR frames in av1an. I did so within a day!

So please guys, I am not an evil grumpy old man or anything. I am happy to be useful for your application. This message may be taken as my written permission to bundle my binaries if you like (including my LICENSE file), or you can include links if you like. That way users would get latest versions.

Thank you.

Thank you for your clarification. The user did report your apology email as well, and led to us discussing over the next couple of days a path forward, which we did decide upon being the reintroduction of DgDecNv support.

We are trying to avoid further drama on this topic, and will be locking this thread as such.
