So it's not possible to count adding an account to a list as a follow but not really like your usual follow?
Lists are really useful, man. It's a bummer that it's the way it is in Mastodon.

The other day I learnt that the reason only followers can be added to Lists is that it prevents stalking. If that's the case then why not make Add to Lists opt-in? I'm sure accounts like Protonmail, F-Droid, Mastodon, Exodus wouldn't mind being added to Lists. For bot accounts, make it compulsory.
Motivation
Lists are very useful for keeping your home TL clutter-free while at the same time keeping up with your other interests. A less-rigid Lists feature can help improve Mastodon's UX.
