I used to use the Twitter features to crop photos, so photos posting to my Mastodon account would do so via a crossposter, but these days I post photos directly to Mastodon more often. My favourite way to use Mastodon is via the web UI, and on my phone I use it as a PWA, and the lack of crop in the web UI is the only reason I have Tusky installed on my phone!
So yeah, the ability to crop photos in the web UI would be brilliant.
Thank you. :)
I just went through this feature in the tracker, and https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/27404 and https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/23382 appear relevant to this, if anyone wishes to deduplicate/explore this feature
So you're on mobile and you've got Mastodon open in a tab and you tap the add-photo button. Then you tap "camera" or "gallery" or whathaveyou, and take/select a picture. It just adds it immediately, and you don't get a chance to crop it!
I'd like to be able to crop an image that I've selected before uploading on mobile, without having to use a different app.
Edit: Oh and rotate!
