Proposal: Change license to Affero GPL 3.0-only #63

Closed sirodoht closed 2 months ago

sirodoht commented 3 months ago

I want to change the license of this repository (https://github.com/mataroa-blog/mataroa) and its code to be under the terms of GNU Affero General Public License version 3.0 only.

The most significant difference with this change is that whoever wants to distribute the mataroa software will have to disclose their changes to the source code, if any. In contrast, our current MIT license allows one to take this software and distribute it as closed source.

To make this change, all contributors must agree to relicense their contributions under the new license, GNU Affero General Public License version 3.0 only.

If you are a contributor and agree with this license change, please comment below. This is the complete list of contributors who need to agree, as of 2024-06-30 17:00 UTC+0, according to the GitHub Contributors page:

The full AGPL-3.0-only license text is here: https://spdx.org/licenses/AGPL-3.0-only.html
