when i click on a section in the index, size mode automatically changes to "best fit" #179

Any new pdfs I open default to "fit page width", which is the default based on the gsettings org.mate.Atril.Default sizing-mode 'fit-width'

When I have the sidepane open and its set to index, and I click on a section in the index, it takes me to the beginning of the section (expected behavior), and it sets the size mode to "best fit" (not expected behavior). Note that if the sidepane is set to "Thubnails" rather than "index", and I click on a thumbnail, it does NOT change the size mode

Here is a video: https://youtu.be/8wR8KgEhmx8

Please change it so that be default, when we click on a new section in the index, it doesnt change the size mode.

Im on LMDE 2 (basically debian jessie). 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt7-1 (2015-03-01) x86_64 GNU/Linux Mate version 1.12 Document viewer 1.12.0 Using poppler/cairo (0.26.5)

I have the same issue on Xubuntu 18.04. When I click index, size mode changes to Fit Page.

lukefromdc commented 6 years ago

I've also had issues with sudden switches to "best fit." EDIT: something else was the trigger though

lukefromdc commented 6 years ago

I just tested this exact issue with atril 1.21.0 from git master and using the sidepane in index mode to navigate anywhere I tried did not trigger a resize to "best fit." I've had problems with that happening from something else (not sure what the trigger was) but the index sidebar is OK on my setup. I have Debian Unstable, GTK 3.23.2 (from an Aug 1 git pull from the 3.24 branch)rather than the usual 3.22.30, and glib 2.57.2, both of those and all of MATE built locally.

I cannot reproduce this. Do you have a specific PDF that's affected by this, or do all PDFs behave this way?

sherdeadlock commented 6 years ago

Some pdf behave this way. You can find it by google "introduction to algorithms". http://labs.xjtudlc.com/labs/wldmt/reading%20list/books/Algorithms%20and%20optimization/Introduction%20to%20Algorithms.pdf
