PDF rendering issue (random word fill up whole page) #190

Using Atril v1.12.2 on Ubuntu MATE 15.10 with MATE for Wily ppa. Edit: Same issue using v1.14.1 on Ubuntu MATE 16.04 with MATE for Xenial ppa Affected PDF (page 2): http://sig.umd.edu/publications/Xiao_ICC_2014.pdf Atril: atril

Chrome 48: chrome-pdf-viewer

Confirmed with 1.13 as well. Can you please try Evince for comparison? It might be some problem in PDF backend...

Using Evince v3.18.2 on ArchLinux 3.19.3-3 with Mate 1.8.2-1 Open this document will cause error: libpdfdocument.so: undefined symbol: poppler_annot_markup_set_popup_rectangle

Looks like a packaging problem in Evince package. Better report it to Evince maintainers.

Can't reproduce on Atril 1.20.1 / poppler/cairo 0.57.0.

I can't reproduce this with latest atril from master or evince in fedora 26 with poppler-0.52.0-11.fc26.x86_64. @juwancase Does the issue still exists with your pdf?

Looks like it's fixed by now. I can't reproduce it with latest Atril from git master and poppler 0.62.
