Performance issues when scrolling through pdf with index open #256

Expected behaviour

Scroll through (large) document with index open. Scrolling is smooth.

Actual behaviour

Scrolling is jittery (freezes). My expectation is that the code to select the current topic has performance issues. When the index is closed, the described behavior does not occur.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

  1. Download and open large pdf with index (such as postgreSQL documentation).
  2. Enable sidebar and index view (View > Sidebar, sidebar dropdown > Index) .
  3. Scroll through file.

Package version

1.18.0

Linux Distribution

Arch Linux (shouldn't matter)
