Atril changes the theme and the wallpaper inside i3wm #550

Expected behaviour

Leave the current theme and wallpaper unchanged when run inside i3wm, just as it happens with pluma, eom, mate-terminal, caja, engrampa, mate-calc, etc.

Actual behaviour

When opening an epub file in Atril inside i3wm, it changes the theme and the wallpaper of the i3wm environment.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

Open an epub file with Atril inside i3wm. After a minute or so, the gtk theme and wallpaper are changed, just as if one was inside Mate environment.

I was able to solve it by killing the process 'mate-settings-daemon' right after closing Atril.

Another way is by uninstalling all the other apps related to Mate desktop, thus leaving only Atril installed.
