Atril offers the option of saving passwords forever when opening encrypted PDF files. However, I find that, over time, Atril forgets the passwords and prompts me again. For example, if the file is moved or renamed. How is the association made between a file and its corresponding password (which is notionally kept forever)? I would like to see this done based on a hash of the file contents.
Expected behaviour
Passwords should be remembered forever.
Actual behaviour
Atril sometimes prompts for passwords which I have entered before. Presumably this is because I have renamed or moved the file.
Steps to reproduce the behaviour
Intermittent behaviour, hard to reproduce.
Package version
MATE Document Viewer 1.24.0
Linux Distribution
Ubuntu 20.04
