Hi devs. I second this call, as Caja should be leading the way in being a more user-friendly and user-customisable file manager. While the Gnome devs seem obsessed with removing functionality from Nautilus every year or two, Caja could be the file manager those fleeing the former turn to. But, if you look around the forums, the advice is to turn to Nemo, especially because of it's customisability.

Now, while I've created guides for adding up to 20 new buttons to Caja (index page of them at my blog, and at the Ubuntu MATE Community forum), most users don't want to mess around with code.

Caja-Toolbar-Create-New-Folder

Since you guys already know that editing /usr/share/caja/ui/caja-navigation-window-ui.xml is the way to customise the toolbar, surely it wouldn't take too much work to add a way for users to achieve this via the UI. For people like myself, it is no big deal to hack the code (it's even fun), but if you're wanting to attract more of the less-technical crowd to adopt Caja as their file manager, little things like this would go a long way. Many thanks for your time.
