Panel-hiding does not work correcly #59

Closed maandree closed 11 years ago

maandree commented 11 years ago

Panel autohide does not hide the panel, but the desktop workspace's area is extended with the area the panel occupies.

Hide arrows in moves the panel, partially, to the neighbour screen.

Working good on 1.5

szesch commented 11 years ago

Please upgrade to 1.4 and let us know if you still have the problem.

maandree commented 11 years ago

After updating mate, the mate desktop programs and caja stopped working.

stefano-k commented 11 years ago

What do you mean for "stopped working" ?

maandree commented 11 years ago

I cannot start the MATE desktop, have to abort it from the TTY. And before restarting, a tries mate-panel --replace and it removed the paneles and the desktop icons started move up and down as if the panels where added and removed in a loop.

Are you using our official Archlinux repo or are you using the AUR repo? The AUR repo is not maintained and is dangerous to use.

maandree commented 11 years ago

AUR broke the installation, but I have another, but it seems to be obsolete [mate-panel is at version 1.2.1], what is the current repository address?

maandree commented 11 years ago

http://repo.mate-desktop.org/archlinux/x86_64 is also stuck at mate-panel 1.2.1.

szesch commented 11 years ago

It seems the Archlinux packages aren't up to speed.

You can open an issue here regarding the old packages: https://github.com/mate-desktop/archlinux-packages/issues

Seeing as this bug has been fixed, shouldn't this issue be closed?
