Does not disable external displays #45

Open thonixx opened 10 years ago

thonixx commented 10 years ago

When selecting no screensaver - just a blank screen - the external monitors do not get disabled and stay enabled with just a black screen. In Ubuntu Unity it seems to behave in other ways and disables the monitors to save energy and preserve monitors lifetime.

The issue still persists in Mate 1.8, the screen turns black but does not standby.

thonixx commented 10 years ago

Still existing. Should I provide configuration files or log files for debugging purposes?

I have this problem, except it's not restricted to external displays. None of my displays are blanked when I lock the screen.

Issue still persists and no one cares as it seems. Sad story.

i think my screen turns off only at the logon (lightdm?), but yes it's just blank & on when logged in

(laptop, hdmi out to dvi monitor, a monitor known to not have the best edid)

maybe it has to do with more than one display

if there is a command we can run to trigger monitor sleep, that would be useful for testing (& integrating into the logic of screensaver)

Still present with 1.18.2, ThinkPad T61.
