Looks like after restarting my machine, mate-terminal is working correctly again. Is this a bug in the update process maybe?
Note that right-clicking on the terminal space brings up a context menu, the last entry is "Show Menubar" and which should be checked by default. If you get a terminal with no menubar showing, make sure this is checked. The menubar can also be disabled from the view menu within itself, though obviously not re-enabled from there, thus the context menu entry for it.
Expected behaviour
Mate terminal should have a menu bar at the top of the window.
Actual behaviour
Mate terminal no longer has the menu bar in v1.22.1. This means I can't rename the window, which was the whole reason I installed mate-terminal in the first place.
Steps to reproduce the behaviour
"Upgrade" to mate-terminal v1.22.1 and open it. See that it has no menu.
