Incorrect ZFS disk capacity (FreeBSD and Ubuntu) #345

Open mfjurbala opened 1 year ago

mfjurbala commented 1 year ago

I'd like to help with this but wanted to look for some guidance from more experienced people. It seems that the disk capacity is correct in the newest Gnome Baobab. I'm not sure if the bug is in Mate-Utils, or some of the required libraries based on some other ZFS issues I've found, for example with libgtop that seems to have originated with mate-system-monitor.

Thanks, I appreciate the help and if there is a more correct place for this issue I'll send it over there.

Expected behaviour

Mate-disk-usage-analyzer should show the correct disk capacity when using OpenZFS.

Actual behaviour

The used storage seems roughly correct but disk capacity is very large. It shows a 240GB SSD as 2.1TB.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

Use the disk usage analyzer.

MATE general version

1.26.0

Package version

1.26.0 from FreeBSD ports and 1.27.0 compiled from source. libgtop is 2.40.0_1

Linux Distribution

GhostBSD (FreeBSD) and Ubuntu 22.10

GhostBSD Bug

mfjurbala commented 1 year ago

This an issue with glibtop, not disk-usage-analyzer. I managed to find an existing issue for that library but it doesn't look like there has been much interest.

Sorry for the noise, would it be better for me to close this issue since the problem is upstream?

Thanks

We can leave it open for other users who run in the same problem. You can notice us here in report when it is fixed by glib, plus closing.
