It should be possible to make the cursor clearly visible on high-res displays. Automatically or by a setting within pluma or by a desktop-wide setting like -GtkWidget-cursor-aspect-ratio.

The cursor is a one-pixel wide line.

As it turns out, it reacts to -GtkWidget-cursor-aspect-ratio but when started from the command line to test it, pluma switched to its old window instead of creating a new one, so it was not visible.
