For a beginner, it would be easy to start on with some sample sites made with MDC Web. It's been difficult to figure out the layout and basically the material design and how it can be implemented,

Thanks for opening this issue. We definitely agree this is something we're lacking, and we want to explore options in terms of what we can reasonably build that is simple enough to learn from (and implement with a reasonable amount of effort) while also being advanced enough to show off some customizations.

I'm going to track this, but we'll need to do some planning/scoping before we pursue it.

I think it would be a good idea to build some parts of the Material studies into sample sites (or just focus on one) with the components available like Shrine as example.

That's great and I have gone through it. But, to explore the countless possibilities of the Material Design, it is limited. I have done lots of CSS tweaks to get a website design like CRANE (in Google I/O). Something like showcase section in Material I/O will be worth helpful. Thanks for your support!!!
