[Icon request] COBOL #884

I guess it will be difficult to design or to even find a fitting universal logo, given the fact that there is not really one. A simple "COB" with a Settings logo for the letter "o" would suffice, in my opinion.

.cob and .cbl for the file extensions. Any thoughts?

The following image should only be a rough draft.

Maybe it resembles existing symbols like the .conf symbol too much?

LukeTimeWalker commented 3 years ago

Or maybe a capital C similar to the capital F for Fortran

@LukeTimeWalker man these are great! I honestly could not choose one, but the last one would fit my initial idea. But I can see that it goes into length and would maybe crop in some sorts. The second one would bring unity among the icons with Fortran so I guess this would get some points, too. I can also agree on the first one being too similar to the .conf logo. All in all these are great logos and I could go with either one 😊 I pull my hat dear Sir 👏

Yes the last one is too long, it must be smaller. I also like the first one, also tried it out already and it looks quite nice:

I'm not so happy with the "c" but I also tried it out:

@LukeTimeWalker can you provide the SVG icons to your images? If you like you can also create a PR for the first one, I think we could go with it.

Thank you very much for your feedback 😄. I will open a pull request using the first icon.
