Description

While trying to login to mathesar we are getting a authentication pop-up.

Expected behavior

Kindly provide as the default username and password for login to the page.

@AshnaSabu123 we'll need more information to help you. Is this a Mathesar installation that you are self-hosting? If so, what installation method did you use? How are you hosting Mathesar?

Mathesar does not have a default username and password. Instead, the Mathesar installation process prompts the administrator to establish a custom admin username and password before using the application.

The dialog in your screenshot does not appear to be coming directly from the Mathesar application. I can't tell for sure what's going on, but that dialog looks like your browser's native UI in response to HTTP-based authentication. Mathesar does not rely on this type of authentication, so it's possible that whoever installed Mathesar also set up an additional layer of HTTP authentication on top of it.

My hunch is that it's very unlikely the Mathesar team will be able to help you with this problem. But the more information you can provide us, the better we'll be able to troubleshoot it with you.
