docs/index.md insists that "You need a recent version of Mono in order to use Math.NET Numerics on anything other than Windows."
I suspect this is no longer true since I was able to build and run most of the examples/examples-fsharp using Microsoft's dotnet distribution (version 7.0.111) on Ubuntu 22.04.
