LinkPi ENC1-V3 struggling to find working usb power #20

Hi, I was under the impression that the ENC1-V3 can only be powered with 12V. I have tried so many 12V usb cables but none seem to work. Some may power the device but once I plug in my osmo pocket 3 the encoder starts failing. I've also tried a usb-c to barrel connector cable, it works with the encoder and the pocket 3 but it does not charge it. It also got really hot so I am afraid that I might've fried something after reading the issue with usb-c. Any help is greatly appreciated

I have no access to a V3 so I can't really tell for sure. According to Carl Mills as long as you don't use the USB-C port to power the encoder you're safe to use the regular USB ports on the LinkPi. I think if you get your hands on a PD USB-C to barrel connector cable that is rated to output 9 or 12 volts you may have more luck in using the LinkPi to power/charge the devices connected to it (but I think that the ports and the power rails on the encoders might not be designed to source anything more than the regulatory USB 2.0 500 mA current...)
