Please start a terminal: Application, Accessories, Terminal. Then type sixemugui in this terminal, and hit enter. Retry to set the dongle address. Quit. Copy-Paste everything displayed in the terminal and send it to me.

I found a way around this error by using bdaddr to change the MAC address.....but I didn't reinsert the dongle. For me, reinserting it resets the address.

I'm reproducing the issue...
Launching sixemugui in a terminal seems to be a work-around.

I started up your program in Terminal. It shows both my BT addresses for my dongle and my PS3. Yet even in Terminal I still get the error "Read address after set: ko!".

It was supposed to be when I ordered it off ebay, but I'm starting to think it isn't since I got it at such a low price... I will try and stop by a store later and buy one. I'll let you know if the prblem is resolved.

As you probably read on my blog, there are many counterfeits on ebay...

This issue (bdaddr not written for a bluecore4-rom dongle) will be fixed in the next release.

Well I just payed 20$ for a dongle that finally changed with the steps in the tutorial. I just came across another problem though. I get the error "Connection error! Did you set the dongle address? If yes, try another dongle!"... I hope this doesn't mean I need to go and get another one :S

@Fabio
Please read the FAQ: http://diy-machine.blogspot.com/p/faq.html ("I get connection errors, what can I do?").

The problem is resolved, thanks. The reason I got the error was because I used a controller which wasn't set to start the ps3. I put the switched the dongle address to my new controller and everything is working good. Appreciate the help and the program.

I think it's a fake (counterfeit) CSR dongle because there is no chip version displayed.

What IS This???? Why IS IT NO WORK??! First I've got a Boardcom Bluetooth bcm2035 and when i tried i got this "read address after set:ko!" error. then i changed my bluetooth dongle and bought a Cambridge silicon Radio (10) like the one in your tutorial Picture.(My Chip Version Was Bluecore01a i think) But Still I'm Getting This Error!!!! What is the solution? What Do I Have To Do? Do I Need To Buy All OF Bluetooth Dongles in the world with different kinds of brands?
P.S: First of all when i open the program i get an error which says:failed to load config file" is this usual? is this my problem?

First of all, please stop spamming, stop complaining, and be patient!
Your dongles are not compatible. Not all broadcom dongles work. Bluecore01a doesn't work.
Try another dongle (you should ideally look for a bluecore4 one).
An error box generally shows a red cross, the box you are talking about is an info box!
