Not sure when we can actually use this since obviously older WP versions wouldn't have this. Not sure if this will be used by WP in the admin. I suppose it won't be relevant any time soon as it would take a while for most plugins to be compatible.

This issue is purely re the admin part of Matomo (ideally including the Matomo reporting/admin UI), not just the WP admin screens.

I think this wasn't done yet? This issue is about the WP Admin if they support this feature there.
