Couldn't login beacuse of SSL error #5376

If I try to login the following error message appears:

Possible SSL certificate error

An error occured that could be caused by an invalid or self signed certificate: “No peer certificate”. Login might work for you when ignoring SSL validation but it is less secure. You can change SSL validation at any time in the settings.

[Cancel] [Ignore SSL Error]

If I click on Ignore another error message is shown:

Network Error

There was an error “Handshake filed”. The request returned the status “0”. URL was “https://stats.dgfm-ev.de/index.php”. Please check your entered URL and the error logs on this server for more information about the error and how to resolve it.

[Ok]

I'm using Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 with Android 5 and MIUI 7.

It works here on a Galaxy S7 with Android 7. I wonder if this is maybe an Android issue? As we are using an SDK that does all the magic we can't really do too much here unfortunately. We will probably towards the end of the year release another update and maybe a newer version of the SDK will fix this issue, but I kind of doubt it.
