Dear PIWIK Team,

My colleague raise this bug (https://forum.matomo.org/t/issue-with-tracking-no-result-search-keywords/30195) in Oct-18 but we have no update on this yet.

Could I please request you to look into this ASAP?

Regards Raghu

Can you explain the issue maybe a bit more? Eg show screenshots of what it is showing vs what you expected?

I suppose the two numbers would be pretty much the same anyway?

Dear Thomas,

Please find the details below, yes the two numbers are for same issue.

PIWIK-12566https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo/issues/12566 & PIWIK-14055https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo/issues/14055

Short Description : PIWIK: The "No search result" monthly report shows the number of total searches of that keywords (as opposed to the time where there was no result)

Description of Problem and its Impact: The "No search result" monthly report shows the number of total searches of that keywords (as opposed to the time where there was no result). Let's take an example:

Impact : This implies that the monthly report should show, for that keyword, 69 searches AND 7 "no results" occurrences. Instead, it shows 69 "no result" occurrences

This was reported internally way back on May-2017 but was reported to your organisation in Mar-2018 and since then we are following up but could not get a fix or explanation as to what is causing this issue.

Could you help us resolve this issue as soon as possible?

Thanks & regard Raghu

Looking at the code it seems that's how Matomo currently seems to work. I think it assumes that if a keywords gives no result, it always doesn't give a result. But if I understand you correctly in your search engine a keyword might sometimes give a result? and sometimes not?

I'll flag it as a bug for now.

Dear Thomas,

Thanks for the update. Could you confirm when this can be fixed, any timeline?

Regards Raghu
