Widget subcategories jump around #17397

Reported in https://forum.matomo.org/t/widgetize-reports-bug/41264

Expected Behavior

Being able to smoothly browse through the widget list smoothly on https://demo.matomo.cloud/index.php?module=Widgetize&action=index&idSite=1&period=day&date=yesterday

Current Behavior

It seems like in some browsers it is hard to select a category as the scroll position jumps around on screen.

The reporter is seeing this in the new Edge on Windows: matomo glitch issue

It works perfectly fine for me in Firefox.

I can kind of reproduce this in Chromium by selecting a category that increases the height of the widget and then scrolling down.

@Findus23 what browser version is that exactly and what widgets should we hover to reproduce it? I wasn't able to reproduce it here

diosmosis commented 3 years ago

I wasn't able to reproduce this through browserstack on edge either

sgiehl commented 3 years ago

I guess he is referring to this behaviour:

I am referring to what @sgiehl shows in the browser (I can reproduce it in Chromium 89.0.4389.90). I'm not sure if the issue of the original reporter is something else or more severe. (as it seems triggerable without scrolling)

Update: Just noticed that the GIF in the first post stopped being a GIF when I pasted it in. It should make more sense now.

I'm seeing the same issue with Chrome 91.0.4472.114 on Mac
