Had another customer inquiring about 'Channel Groupings'. "First thing I've noticed, is that I don't see a way to modify channel groupings, Could you please let me know if it is possible to group/create channels manually"
Customer inquiring about channel grouping "We're looking to possibly switch from GA to Matomo and I very recently started a trial to understand if Matomo will meet our requirements. One of the first things I noticed is that it doesn't seem possible to create custom Channel types (or Channel groups as GA calls it). This is a very important feature to us"
Another customer request has been made for custom channel grouping - "We want to change the Channel Types to our own. Is this possible? For example, add Email channel, Paid Social channel, etc."
Another request for this: With channel groupings, is it possible to manually configure them? That would be VERY helpful.
Another customer asking about custom channel grouping: "I would like to know if it is possible to have custom Channel types in Matomo? Ideally, we would like to isolate the Paid Search and not have it grouped together with non-paid campaigns, and emails etc."
Another request from a Cloud customer who needs to specify a custom URL as a Social Media -> Instagram referral.
I am a customer who would also like this, please and thanks.
Had a customer inquiring about custom channel groupings today, specifically for mail/newsletters
Another cloud customer who would like this option to be implemented for Email newsletters.
New Matomo on-premise user here. I would also like this option in Matomo
Hi team, There is a client asking for this feature. Typically, being able to group some websites within the direct access, being able to name direct access differently. They have millions of visitors coming from different type of traffic: qr code, physically, email, print and it does not make sense to group them all in campaigns as it won't be easy to analyze in there.
For us a feature like this would also be very welcome!
@Blueside2k i made a hack, if you want to have a look at it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lto6sPMdA2c
Similar to what is available in GA (About Channel Groupings - Analytics Help and Default channel definitions - Analytics Help))
A way to adjust "All Channels" with users own rule set to define which traffic will be assigned to which channel (like adjusting the "default channel grouping" in Google Analytics).
For the content we need to include the following features:
People would need to be able to change which websites go under which channel
People would need to be able to create their own custom channels and then use (1) above to pick which websites or referrers get assigned to each channel
To be discussed (notes added by Matt):
